Foundry Hills Creme is comparable to ball clay but with a lower drying shrinkage (around 6-6.5%) and higher iron content (low TiO2). Its refractory nature is balanced by a significant firing shrinkage of approximately 8% across the cone 7 to 11 range. Porosity gradually decreases from cone 7 upwards (7% to 4% at cone 11 oxidation and 10 reduction). It is commonly employed in stoneware clay bodies for its distinctive characteristics.
