Engobes are used to coat your clay body to your preferred finish/color and will impact glaze results when used as a base. Engobes will not stick to the kiln shelf with 2 coats. Can be used in oxidation or reduction firings. Results may vary. Apply to wet clay, greenware or bisque, and fire from cones 5-10. Can be used in oxidation or reduction firings. Results may vary. This glaze is dinnerware safe with clear glaze or another glaze that creates a sealed finish.

Cone 6 oxidation: Black Engobe fires matte black. Engobes are used to coat your clay body to your preferred finish/color and are a great base to achieve in your glaze results. 

Cone 10 reduction: No change.
