Sterling is a versatile stoneware and a true studio staple designed to perform well for both handbuilding and wheel throwing. It has a semi groggy to smooth, workable body with excellent plasticity, making it forgiving for beginners and reliable for experienced makers. In oxidation and reduction firings, the clay fires to a soft, warm grey. Durable, consistent, and adaptable, this clay is ideal for everyday functional work as well as sculptural and experimental pieces.
